“Since singing is so good a thing,
I wish all men would learn to sing.”

LEGACY

Meadowlark Vocal Studio has quite a history in Bucks County, PA. Its founder and visionary, Deborah Prischmann Gryniewicz, M.M., successfully directed the studio in Doylestown for over 20 years. For 6 years in middle and high school, Laurel Hessler-Orlando was a voice student under Deborah Prischmann at Meadowlark Vocal Studio. In 2013, Deborah officially passed the baton of directorship to Laurel, who continues the studio's legacy of providing excellent vocal instruction, and inspiring and encouraging students to reach their musical potentials.

MISSION

I train students' voices and musical and communicative skills, and I provide instruction and guidance for these ends through the study of vocalization, breathing, human anatomy, dramatic expression, music theory, ear training, musicality, language, diverse vocal repertoire; and through performance experience.

By investing in their own voices at Meadowlark Vocal Studio, students are given the life-changing and life-enriching opportunity to grow--not just as musicians, but as stronger individuals and more perceptive and caring human beings

ABOUT

Laurel Hessler-Orlando is the director and instructor of Meadowlark Vocal Studio. She holds a Bachelor of Music in voice from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music (IL). Laurel has participated in numerous opera, choir, music theater, and solo performances, and continues to perform today as a church soloist.

As a vocal instructor and a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Laurel aims to foster healthy vocal development and natural vocal production and skill in each student. She endeavors to develop in her students a keen sense of communication, and a deep appreciation and love for music

In addition to teaching privately at Meadowlark Vocal Studio, she also enjoys teaching beginners' group singing classes at Camp Curiosity and conducting vocal health and foundations workshops at local high schools.

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens, noble human beings. If a child hears fine music from the day of his birth, and learns to play [or sing] it himself, he develops sensitivity, discipline and endurance. He gets a beautiful heart.”
